NOT TAKEN INTO CONFIDENCE ON BUDGET, PPP EXPRESSES RESERVATIONS

It should be noted that a meeting of the parliamentary party of the People's Party was held yesterday under the chairmanship of former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in which the members of the assembly expressed their concerns regarding budget.

They said the conditions on which they supported the Shehbaz government had not yet been implemented.  Speaking after the meeting, Shazia Marri said the People's Party was not taken into confidence on the budget.

"Does this government want us to stage protest demonstrations? We are facing difficulties due to the attitude of the federal government. The government has not fulfilled what he had agreed to do," she said.

Talking to media, PPP leader Syed Khurshid Shah said, "We do not know anything about budget. We have no idea about the agreements with

IMF and China. In past, the opposition was taken into confidence but now an ally is not taken into confidence."

Shah said it was duty of the government to take the allies along. "The Pakistan People's Party wants the parliament to be run under a code of conduct," he said. Shah said the PPP was yet to take any decision to join the federal cabinet or otherwise.
