LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab government has made a revolutionary decision to restructure the governance system in the province, Dunya News has reported.
According to sources, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the restructuring plan, under which the ministries and departments in Punjab will undergo restructuring.
As per the plan, there will be downsizing in under-performing and loss-making institutions, while the redundant ones will be abolished and various departments performing the same tasks will be merged.
Sources said that through restructuring, the efficiency of ministries and the delivery of public service will be expedited and streamlined, resulting in a substantial reduction in government expenditures and annual savings.
