(Web Desk) – A security staff member at Chandigarh Airport slaps actor and MP-elect Kangana Ranaut for allegedly disrespecting the farmers of Punjab.
The constable said she slapped the actress for “disrespecting farmers”, alluding to the 15-month-long protest against three controversial farm laws.
The actress, who recently won the Lok Sabha election for Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, was set to board a flight to Delhi when the incident happened.
When Kangana reached the Suspected Hazardous Area (SHA), an official from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was responsible for examining her.
After which, she appeared to slap Kangana. The official was identified as Kulwinder Kaur.
Viral footage shows Kangana being escorted by a group of security officers towards the security check-in, where she spoke to some CISF officers.
According to reports, the CISF Commandant has taken notice of the incident and is questioning the constable.
Breaking her silence on the incident, Kangana said: “I am safe. The incident happened during the security check at the airport.
“The moment checking was done, a woman constable in CISF in a different cabin waited for me to cross her and she hit me on the face from the side and abused me.
“I asked her why she did this, and she said, It’s because of the farmers’ protest. “What concerns me is the rise in terror in Punjab and how do we handle this.”
During the election campaign, farmers had blocked her convoy in Chandigarh while Kangana Ranaut was going towards Mandi.
