(Web Desk) - Royal Princess Kate Middleton, who is battling cancer, may never come back to her royal duties, a US news portal reports, citing sources.
In a report, US Weekly said that she "may never come back in the role that people saw her in before," citing sources.
The Princess of Wales was once front and centre on royal engagements with her husband, Prince William. The insider added that Kate is currently "reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back" after she underwent preventative chemotherapy as part of her treatment.
Even royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that when Kate does return to her royal duties, "it will be (based) on medical advice, and it will be very carefully balanced".
The report comes just weeks after a source claimed that Middleton, 42, may not appear publicly as a working royal for the rest of the year.
Earlier last month, a source told The Daily Beast that Kate Middleton's diary for this year is empty.
"There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year," the source said.
The insider further added that he would not rule out another video message updating the world about Kate Middleton's latest health status.
Meanwhile, Prince William has assured well-wishers of his wife's well-being during recent engagements. A Kensington Palace spokesperson previously stated that the Princess' return to public duties hinges on clearance from her medical team.
In March, there was hope from royal fans that Kate would be back in the public eye after reports suggested she was working from home in her role with the Centre for Early Childhood. But her cancer diagnosis and treatment announcement dashed those hopes.
