(Web Desk) - Former model and actress Zainab Jamil has shared harrowing accounts of abuse and limitations she faced within her marriage, reportedly influenced by her husband's second spouse.
Appearing on a podcast, she blamed her husband’s second wife for her sufferings and her husband’s mistreatment.
She instigated him, claiming my presence on Instagram was inappropriate and that it would set a bad example for other women in the family, Jamil revealed.
“He gave me minimal money for household expenses and barred me from using Instagram,” she recounted.
Her decision to earn money via Instagram was met with an ultimatum from her husband to seek a divorce first.
Jamil also disclosed that she had considered divorce but requested time to settle matters, only to face further violence.
“A cousin warned me that my in-laws would make my life miserable, and that’s exactly what happened,” she lamented.
These revelations follow a near-fatal shooting incident that occurred last month in Lahore’s DHA area.
Zainab was attacked on May 22 by unidentified assailants, sustaining serious injuries.
Police have registered a case against two unknown attackers. Her husband has secured bail in the case.
