ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Islamabad anti-terrorism court has rejected police’s petition for physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Amir Mughal.
Islamabad police presented Amir Mughal before anti-terrorism court for physical remand in attack on police officials case.
Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain rejected the petition filed for physical remand and ordered to send Mughal to jail on judicial remand.
A case was registered against PTI leader Amir Mughal at Islamabad’s Karachi Company police station by complainant under Section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other six sections.
PTI leader Amir Mughal and 25 other individuals were accused of attacking CDA and police officials. However, police arrested the PTI leader from central secretariat in Islamabad on Thursday.

The FIR stated that Amir Mughal resorted to aerial firing during the CDA operation on Thursday night and he, along with mob, tried to attack police.
According to FIR, Amir Mughal’s companions escaped from the scene during his arrest.
It is pertinent to note that a CDA anti-encroachment team in collaboration with the district administration launched operation to remove encroachments and unauthorised constructions at the PTI’s central secretariat located at Sector G8/4 in Islamabad.
A portion of the PTI central secretariat was also demolished during the operation. The CDA officials stated that the illegal constructions of PTI offices were demolished.
