LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has finalised the 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s World Cup 2024, source said on Friday.
The squad includes five pacers, four all-rounders, three wicketkeepers, two batsmen and one spinner. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to announce the team soon after approval from chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
The likely squad of Pakistan includes Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afrid, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi.
The travel reserves are Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Ali and Irfan Niazi.
Meanwhile, reports said the board would announce the squad after Pakistan’s first T20I match against England scheduled for May 22. The deadline for announcement of squads is May 24.
The ninth edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, which will be a 20-team event, will take place in the USA and West Indies from June 1 to 29.
