Loadshedding increases with rise in temperature

Power shortfall increases to 5,218 megawatts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Loadshedding has increased in the country as the temperature is on the rise, making life miserable for the masses.

As the electricity demand has increased, the duration of loadshedding in the urban areas of the country has increased from six to eight hours.

Sources said the power shortfall had increased to 5,218 megawatts. 

On the other hand, the total production of power from all the sources of energy is 18,782 megawatts while the demand of the electricity has touched 24,000 megawatts.

The production of electricity from hydropower sources stands at 5,500 megawatts and the government thermal power plants are producing 600 MW.

Similarly, the production of electricity from IPPs is 8,000 MW and around 700 MW are being produced from wind power.

Only 157 megawatts are being produced from solar sources.
