PM Shehbaz stresses on close cooperation for economic stability

Both leaders discuss development projects, other issues, including Sindh share from divisible pool

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday stressed the need of forging close coordination between the centre and the provinces to bring about economic prosperity and stability in the country.

The premier was talking to the Sindh cabinet on his maiden visit to Karachi after assuming the office after February 8 elections.

He stressed the need for collective approach of all the political stakeholders to move forward.

He said that Allah gave an opportunity to the PPP in Sindh and the PML-N in Punjab in the February 8 election and stressed on respecting the mandate giving by the people in general elections.

Premier Shehbaz said that the development of Sindh and Punjab is the development of Pakistan and stressed on developing other provinces also.

He said we have to take harsh decisions that may not be favourable ourselves.

He said the visits of the delegations of Saudi Arabia and Iran will not only result in increase of foreign investment in the country, but it will also strengthen our economy.

The prime minister said following the visits of Saudi Arabian and Iranian delegations, investors and foreign dignitaries from other countries would also come to Pakistan soon.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah of resolution of all issues with mutual consensus.

Premier Shehbaz gave the assurance during a one-on-one meeting with Murad Ali Shah at the Chief Minister’s House after reaching Sindh capital on a one-day visit in the morning.

They also discussed development projects and other issues, including Sindh’s share from divisible pool.

Earlier, on arrival at Karachi he was received by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

He was driven to the Mazar-e-Quaid from the airport. The prime minister laid a wreath at the grave and offered Fateha.

Later, the prime minister took an oath from the youth who performed prominently to serve Pakistan and play their role in the development of the country.

It may be noted that this is Shehbaz Sharif’s first visit to Karachi after assuming the office of prime minister.

He is scheduled to meet Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry office-bearers besides representatives of various trade and business organisations.
