LAHORE (Lahore News) - Maryam Nawaz, the nominee for the chief minister's position in Punjab, has commended the courageous action of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano for rescuing a woman from a mob in Lahore.
On social media platform 'X,' Maryam tweeted, "Thank you Shehrbano! We are all proud of you." She lauded the bravery, dedication, wisdom, and sense of duty displayed by the police officer during a potentially violent incident.
She expressed her appreciation for ASP Shehrbano for her efforts in countering extremism and handling the pressure of the mob in a tense situation.
Maryam Nawaz emphasised that every police officer should resolve to ensure security and safety of citizens with such unwavering courage.
Meanwhile, the Punjab police has recommended her name for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM), the highest gallantry award for law enforcers in Pakistan.
On Sunday, a mob in Lahore surrounded a woman for wearing dress adorned with Arabic calligraphy. ASP Shehrbano controlled the situation and saved the woman from the mob.
