SC to hear govt's intra-court appeal seeking action against retired judges

Five-member larger bench led by Justice Aminuddin Khan will conduct hearing

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear government's intra-court appeal regarding action against retired judges on Monday.

A five-member Justice Aminuddin Khan-led larger bench will conduct hearing of intra-court appeal filed by the government in Aafia Sher Bano case today. The apex court has already issued notices to parties in the case.

The Supreme Court, in its judgement on March 8, 2019, had ruled that judges who had resigned and got retirement could not be proceeded against in the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

The federation and Aafia Sher Bano had filed appeals against that apex court judgement.
