(Web Desk) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refuted the reports circulated by certain private news channels, intending to mislead the public about the capability and utility of the Election Management System (EMS), a programme designed to compile results of the Feb 8 general elections.
The ECP through its spokesperson on Saturday declared that certain private news channels were spreading false propaganda regarding glitches in EMS. He affirmed that the functionality of EMS had undergone multiple tests, leaving no doubt about its efficiency.
The ECP had in a previous statement mentioned that it had smoothly conducted a mock test of the programme. The evaluation had concluded that the software system performed satisfactorily in all aspects.
