ECP announces public holiday on Feb 8 for polling

The ECP declared holiday to “enable voters to exercise their right of franchise freely"

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday announced a public holiday on Feb 8 across the country. 

The ECP issued a notification according to which “all public and private offices, educational institutions and business centers will remain closed across the country.”

The notification said the ECP declared holiday on the election day to “enable voters to exercise their right of franchise freely and conveniently.”

It may be recalled that on Feb 8, more than 128 million registered voters will exercise their right to vote.
