Aspiring influencer tortured animals on YouTube for likes

Pennsylvania woman has been arrested

(Web Desk) - A Pennsylvania woman has been accused of torturing animals for likes on YouTube, authorities said.

Anigar Monsee, 28, was arrested on Jan. 19 and charged with four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after the Upper Darby Police Department was notified of the YouTube channel by the animal rights organization PETA, according to 6abc, NBC 10 and Patch.com.

Monsee is accused of torturing and killing living animals such as rabbits, chickens, frogs and pigeons in the videos she posted online in the past year, police said, per the outlets.

According to an affidavit cited by NBC 10, authorities claimed that Monsee appeared to seek more likes before harming an animal, and that some of her comments were sexually explicit.

Once PETA received a tip about the videos being posted to the account, they contacted Upper Darby police.

Once taken into custody, police say Monsee allegedly admitted to the animal abuse.

According to YouTube’s community guidelines, animal abuse content is not permitted.

In a statement to NBC 10, a YouTube spokesperson said, “Content that is violent or abusive toward animals is not allowed on YouTube, and we have terminated the channel in question.”

“The best we can do is just to honor them by making sure this kind of behavior does not continue, and that more animals aren't made victims,” Kristen Rickman, a spokesperson for PETA, told 6abc.

According to YouTube’s community guidelines, animal abuse content is not permitted.

In a statement to NBC 10, a YouTube spokesperson said, “Content that is violent or abusive toward animals is not allowed on YouTube, and we have terminated the channel in question.”

Monsee is expected in court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 5, the outlets report, citing court documents.
