RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was shifted to a hospital when his health deteriorated in Adiala Jail on Thursday.
Sources said he was shifted to the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (IRC) as he complained about issues in the jail.
Doctors will have a detailed medical examination of the AML head. The court will also seek a detailed medical checkup report from the jail administration.
Sheikh Rashid's nephew Shafique said the jail administration intimated him through a phone call that his uncle was not feeling well and he was being shifted to RIC.
On Jan 16, a court had dismissed his bail in a case relating to May 9 attacks. He was then arrested on court premises.
