LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former finance minister Miftah Ismail has said if any political party, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is denied its electoral symbol, it could lead to disputed election results.
During an informal conversation with a group of reporters in Lahore, Ismail recalled that various parties had levelled allegations of rigged elections in the past.
He underscored that withdrawing an electoral symbol from any party, whether PTI or any other, could potentially lead to disputed elections.
The former minister remarked that in Pakistan, the people were capable, and relying solely on the Sharif family, the founder of PTI and the Bhutto family was not a good practice.
Ismail also noted that there was a reduction in inflation after the government led by Shehbaz Sharif made an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
