Late actor's Hollywood home hits the market for $2.175mn

The house’s far-reaching views over the coast and Los Angeles drew Joe E Tata to the property

(Web Desk) - The West Hollywood, California, home of late “Beverly Hills 90210” actor Joe E. Tata—perched on a hill and offers far-reaching views of downtown Los Angeles—has hit the market for $2.175 million.

Tata, who played Nat Bussichio, the owner of the local diner on the 1990s TV show, bought the home in 2003 for just over $875,000, records with PropertyShark show.

He died in 2022 at the age of 85, and his daughter, Kelly Tata, is selling the residence.

The view was the “primary allure” of the property, she said. “From the pristine coastline to the dazzling lights of downtown L.A.,” Kelly said.

“The prospect of waking up to such picturesque scenes each morning was a vision he couldn’t resist.”

Tata hosted many soirees at the residence over the years, according to his daughter.

“The cast of ‘90210’ were frequent visitors to the house, and my father considered them more than just acquaintances; he saw them as an extension of his family. The house became a hub for entertaining,” Kelly said.

She added that late actor Nicky Blair and Ron Popeil—the creator of the television infomercial, who died in 2021—were also regular guests.

The living room has oversized windows that frame the vistas and let the light in, plus a balcony that overlooks the city, according to the listing with Jeffrey Billinger of the Hills Premier Realty, who brought the property to market in mid-December.

There are bright white walls and hardwood floors throughout, as well as yellow and blue accent walls.

There are four bedrooms, with a primary suite that features a private balcony and fireplace, plus a dressing room and large bathroom, according to the listing.

The listing notes “the kitchen and other areas of the home bear a touch of vintage charm”—read, they need to be updated.

But the next owner can add “personal touches to transform this space into [their] dream home.”
