ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Fate of Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf will be decided after the ICC World Cup 2023.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) forwarded a summary to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar for Ashraf's extension. The four-month term of Ashraf expired on Saturday.
Sources said the decision on the extension or replacement of the Pakistan Cricket Board chief would be taken after the world cup as the prime minister believes that it is not proper to take any decision amid the mega event.
"A major event is in progress. At this point in time, we do not want to make any big decisions. Once the World Cup concludes his status will be reassessed. I don’t think at this point of time we are in a position to make a big decision. At times you have to make decisions considering the doctrine of necessity,” a news report quoted PM Kakar as having said.
Najam Sethi served as the PCB chairman when Ashraf was selected for the slot in July this year.
