ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar's visit to Gilgit-Baltistan was cancelled on Wednesday.
The decision was changed owing to weather conditions. Earlier, the prime minister was scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Gilgit-Baltistan to attend the 76th Independence Day.
According to sources, the prime minister had to visit Yadgar-e-Shuhada and address the main ceremony at the Army Polo Ground of Gilgit. PM Kakar wasl also scheduled to visit Skardu.
Later in the day, he had to visit Diamer-Bhasha Dam site to review the ongoing construction work.
On Nov 1, 1947, the Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts stood against the Dogra governor and announced the liberation of Gilgit-Baltistan from Dogra rule and hoisted the national flag of Pakistan.
