ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa, during hearing of a plea pertaining to post-arrest bail on Tuesday, reprimanded a lawyer for his acting, saying he should refrain from staging a drama and considering the courtroom a Hollywood set.
The Supreme Court chief justice conducted hearing of plea for post-arrest bail. During the hearing, the CJP scolded the lawyer and expressed his annoyance over his attitude.
The CJP said he should not consider the courtroom a Hollywood set and should not behave like an actor. “You refused to accept what you were told by this court. If you have committed a mistake, you must admit that,” CJP Isa remarked.
The CJP, while addressing the lawyer, said: “You are telling us about five cases but as a matter of fact these are eight cases. We will have to countercheck your claims.”
The court reprimanded the lawyer for holding his ears in court. Later, the lawyer tendered an apology over his behaviour to the chief justice.
