CHENNAI (Dunya News) - Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam may not be in the best of forms but he continues to win admiration for his gestures on and off the field.
He knows how to respect the seniors or peers - something he demonstrated during a match against Afghanistan on Monday.
During the match being played at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India, the shoe strap of Babar Azam got loosened on the pitch. Former captain and veteran player of Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi, rushed to help Azam and tried to bend himself to tie the laces. However, Azam stopped Nabi from doing so and immediately did it by himself.
It’s a common practice on the field that any player from the fielding side, as a gesture of sportsmanship, ties the shoe lace of any batter during the match.

Social media was abuzz with comments about Babar's example of reverence for seniors.
This was a beautiful gesture. Babar Azam didn't let Nabi tie his shoe laces out of respect and removed his gloves instead to tie his shoe lace. ️ #CWC23 pic.twitter.com/UFMehoyGmZ
