ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Central Power Purchasing Company (CPPA) has proposed to the National Electric Power Company (Nepra) another Rs0.55 per unit hike in power tariff, Dunya News has learnt.
If approved, the consumers of power distribution companies (Discos) will be facing additional burden of Rs8.37 billion. The CPPA seeks increase in tariff under fuel price adjustment for September.
The application states that 12.92 billion units were consumed by power consumers in the month of September.
The Nepra will conduct hearing on November 1.
On October 2, the authority had notified an increase in the price of electricity by Rs3.28 per unit on account of Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) from Oct 2023 to March 2024.
