ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) -  Five new Punjab districts will have 13 national and provincial assembly seats for the first time under the initial delimitation, Dunya News has learnt.

The Elahi-led provincial government created new districts of Kot Addu, Taunsa, Wazirabad, Talagang and Murree last year.

According to the breakup, Kot Addu district will get two NA and three PA seats. The two NA seats are NA-179 and NA-180, while the PA constituencies will be PP-276, PP-277 and PP-278.

Wazirabad and Taunsa districts will each get one NA and two PA seats, respectively. Wazirabad will get NA-66, PP-35 and PP-36 while Taunsa will get NA-183, PP-284 and PP-285.

Talagang district could not independently qualify for an NA seat and will share one with Chakwal. NA-59 will be called Talagang-cum-Chakwal now. Chakwal had two NA seats in the past. It will now have one independent NA seat. However, Talagang will get one PA seat, PP-23. PP-22 will be called Chakwal-cum-Talagang.

Similarly, Murree failed to qualify to get an NA seat independently, and thus NA-51, identified as Rawalpindi-cum-Murree, will include the entire district of Murree. However, Murree will get a PA seat - PP-06.
