Caretaker PM Kakar to address UNGA today

Kakar will project Pakistan’s perspective on a range of regional and world issues of concern
NEW YORK (DUNYA NEWS) – Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar will address the 78th United Nations General Assembly session here today (Friday).
In his address, Kakar will project Pakistan’s perspective on a range of regional and world issues of concern, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
He will also elaborate on the significant steps taken by his caretaker administration to consolidate the country’s economy and efforts to mobilise domestic and foreign investment.
APPNA delegation calls on Kakar
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani-descent of North America (APPNA), led by its president Dr Arshad Rehan, called on caretaker Prime Minister Kakar on Thursday afternoon.
The caretaker prime minister appreciated APPNA’s social welfare, educational and medical relief missions and programmes in Pakistan. He commended Dr Rehan for APPNA’s positive role for unity and solidarity among the Pakistani-American community.
Kakar invited APPNA to invest in health tourism, medical and paramedical education, training and skill development sectors in Pakistan.
He reiterated that over one million strong Pakistani-Americans were an asset for Pakistan and their contribution in country’s national development was fully recognised. He expressed confidence that the diaspora would continue to contribute to Pakistan’s socioeconomic progress through their remittances, investments and philanthropic work.
The caretaker prime minister said the diaspora was Pakistan’s face in the US and a valuable bridge for further strengthening Pakistan-US ties. He assured APPNA delegation of government’s firm resolve to facilitate Pakistani diaspora all around the world.
Dr Rehan, on behalf of APPNA members, expressed gratitude to the prime minister for the call-on and briefed him on continued work in social welfare, educational and medical domains in Pakistan.
