Naila Kiani is first woman from Pakistan to summit Manaslu

She previously reached the top of Mount Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak and others

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Naila Kiani becomes the first Pakistani woman mountaineer to climb 8.163 metres high Manaslu – the world’s eighth tallest peak in Nepal – on Thursday morning after starting the final push towards the summit from camp 2 the previous evening. 

Kiani is the only woman from Pakistan to reach the summits of nine mountains which are over 8,000 metres high as she has previously climbed Mount Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum 2, Annapurna, Lhotse and Broad Peak.

She also enjoys the distinction of being the first woman from Pakistan to summit Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum 2, Lhotse and Broad Peak.

The top mountaineer from Pakistan has already planned to climb two peaks in China – Chuayo and Shishapangma – during the current season as she aims to summit all the 14 mountains which are over 8,000 metres tall.

Kiani belongs to Gujjar Khan – a tehsil of Rawalpindi district – who has studied aerospace engineering from the United Kingdom.

A day earlier, Shehroz Kashif had summit Manaslu, repeating the feat achieved by Sajid Sadpara last year.
