The injury could also rule him out of the upcoming PSL 2024

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s star pacer Naseem Shah is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 as scans showed that the injury is worse than was initially suspected by the management.

The right-arm fast bowler injured his right shoulder during the Asia Cup 2023 match against India at Colombo earlier this week. Later, right-arm fast bowler Zaman Khan had replaced Naseem Shah in Pakistan’s 17-player squad.

Sources said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was expected to take a second opinion from medical experts on his recovery.

Scans from tests in Dubai appeared to show the injury could rule him out of the game for the rest of year in a major blow to the team green. There are also fears that the player could also miss the next edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
