Fertilisers-laden train derails near Bahawalpur

The driver deliberately got the train off the track after its brakes failed

BAHAWALPUR (Dunya News) - A freight train loaded with fertilisers derailed near Kalanchwala in Bahawalpur district on Monday, officials said.

No loss of life was reported in the incident.  

As the brakes failed, the train driver deliberately got the train off the track to avoid the populated area. Six coaches overturned after getting derailed.

The freight train was going to Sindh from Punjab. Railways authorities diverted other trains coming from Karachi. Heavy machinery was used for removing the derailed coaches and clear the track.
