ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A lawyer’s “personal commitments” are more important than the Toshakhana case against the PTI chairman as a sessions court on Friday adjourned the hearing till Monday on the plea of the representative of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

ECP counsel Saad Hasan appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar who asked him to argue the case.

Saad submitted that Advocate Amjad Parvez was to argue the case but due to “domestic commitments” he could not appear before the court. He requested the judge to adjourn the hearing for tomorrow (Saturday).

Judge Dilawar said the hearing was not possible tomorrow as the district court was being shifted. There would be no proceedings in any case tomorrow morning in the F8 court.

The judge asked the lawyer is it possible that the hearing would be held in the new building tomorrow?

ECP lawyer Saad sought court permission to consult Advocate Amjad and the judge adjourned hearing for five minutes.

After the break, Saad requested adjournment for Monday.

The judge turned towards PTI chairman's lawyer Gohar Ali Khan and told him that the ECP lawyer was “very busy today” and sought adjournment.

Later, he declared that he would hear the case on Monday in the new court building.

Advocate Gohar replied that case would be heard in a new court in a new atmosphere, "Good to see you in new court," he told Judge Dilawar and requested him that proceeding should start at 11am.

The court accepted his plea and adjourned the hearing.
