The targeted killing exposes inadequate security at the court
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Two persons were killed when their rivals opened fire on them on the premises of the sessions court on Thursday.
The firing triggered panic among court staff, lawyers and visitors who ran to save their lives. The victims suffered nine bullet wounds and succumbed to the injuries in hospital.
Heavy police contingent rushed to the crime scene, lifted necessary evidence an shifted the bodies for autopsy. Police later took two suspects into custody.
The Punjab police chief took notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Lahore police chief.
The latest act of "targeted killing" on the premises of the sessions court has once again raised fingers on the security measures adopted by the Lahore police. The Lahore police claim security at the entry and exits of court premises through deployments of cops, installation of walkthrough gates and use of metal detectors.
