(Reuters) - An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck south of Tonga, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported on Sunday.
The quake was at a depth of 40 km (25 miles), EMSC said.
EMSC had first reported a magnitude of 6.1 for the earthquake.
It may be recalled that an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 struck near Tonga on June 15. Its epicenter was located about 280 km (174 miles) southwest of Tonga, at a depth of 167.4 km (104 miles), according to USGS.
