Says Imran Khan and his "mob" were anti-Pakistan elements

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed the authorities to arrest those behind vandalism of the Corps Commander House (formerly Jinnah house) within 72 hours.

“All the criminals and attackers should be arrested within next 72 hours,” he said. "All those who incited or contributed to the chaos should be arrested within 72 hours as terrorism was unacceptable," he added.

PM Sharif issued the directives while chairing a meeting at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority in Lahore. He also visited the vandalised Jinnah House. He said Jinnah House had been burnt down and the whole nation was in grief over the tragic incident.

He hit out at PTI chief Imran Khan, saying the former prime minister and his “mob” were anti-Pakistan elements. He said the perpetrators should be dealt with an iron fist.

What terrorist could not do in 75 years, he said, the PTI miscreants had done in the latest assault on installations. He said the government property was damaged under a plan.

Earlier, the PM said Mr Khan was maligning the military leadership as it had unearthed the “corruption syndicate of Niazi”.

In a fiery tweet, the premier said the statement made by PTI chief about Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir “is a reflection of his diseased and obsessive mindset”.

“As DG ISI, Gen Asim Munir unearthed the corruption syndicate of Niazi, and that is why he has been maligning the COAS from day one,” reads the tweet.

“It is also his admission of masterminding the tragic and disgraceful incidents of terrorism undertaken by PTI goons at his behest. The desecration of the martyrs' monuments & attack on the national installations represent an unimaginable low in our politics.”

A day ago, the PM had condemned Mr Khan's allegations against the army chief. He said the statement of Imran Niazi against the Pakistan army was a proof of his low mentality. "This statement (of Imran Khan) was a confession of the mastermind of the tragic incidents of May 9", he added.

The prime minister said this was the same mentality which levelled false allegations of his murder plan against the patriotic army, officers and concocted false stories of cypher and foreign conspiracy. “This is an expression of real intentions of the anti-state mastermind of the terrorists. This is confession that whatever happened on May 9 was done on the directions of Imran Niazi,” he added.
