Says desecration of martyrs' monuments represents unimaginable low in our politics
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was maligning the military leadership as it had unearthed the “corruption syndicate of Niazi”.
In a fiery tweet, the premier said the statement made by PTI chief about Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir “is a reflection of his diseased & obsessive mindset”
“As DG ISI, Gen Asim Munir unearthed the corruption syndicate of Niazi & that is why he has been maligning the COAS from day one,” reads the tweet.
“It is also his admission of masterminding the tragic and disgraceful incidents of terrorism undertaken by PTI goons at his behest. The desecration of the martyrs' monuments & attack on the national installations represent an unimaginable low in our politics.”
Saying the nation stood behind its armed forces, PM Shehbaz vowed to thwart any nefarious attempts at undermining them.
On Friday night, the premier came down hard on Mr Khan, saying his statement against Pakistan army was a proof of his low-minded mentality. This statement was a confession of the mastermind of the tragic incidents of May 9, he added.
The PM said Imran Niazi was afraid of the winner of the sword of honour, Hafiz e Quran and the honest army chief.
