5.7 magnitude quake jolts parts of Pakistan

Epicentre of earthquake was Hindukush region of Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Tremors of 5.7 magnitude on Wednesday jolted several parts of Pakistan. 

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the depth of the earthquake was 187 kilometres while its magnitude was 5.7 on Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was Hindukush region in Afghanistan. The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Mardan, Swat, Peshawar, Charsadda and other cities. 

People came out of their homes in panic reciting verses of the Holy Quran. The earthquake also jolted parts of neighbouring Afghanistan. 

No loss of life and property was reported due to earthquake.
