Shah Rukh Khan was first chosen for Munna Bhai MBBS

Dutt was the right choice for the role.
MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Rajkumar Hirani wanted Shah Rukh Khan to play the lead role in his movie Munna Bhai MBBS initially, but due to a spinal injury, the actor could not be a part of the film.
In a recent video, Khan revealed that Hirani had called him while he was shooting for Devdas and asked when he could join. However, as Khan was unsure about his recovery, he had to decline the role.
The actor praised Sanjay Dutt's outstanding performance in the film and acknowledged that he could not have done it better.
In a separate interview, Hirani spoke about approaching Khan for the part and stated that while he seemed like a suitable candidate, Dutt was the right choice for the role.
Shah Rukh Khan and Hirani will be collaborating on their upcoming film, Dunki.
