Extending support to Imran, US Congressman writes to Blinken

Says HR violations should be investigated in Pakistan

NEW YORK (Dunya News) - US Congressman Brad Sherman has written a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken extending support to PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

In his letter to US Secretary of State, Brad Sherman said it was in the interest of United States that voice should be raised in support of human rights in Pakistan. Pakistan’s policy must represent United States’ priorities for democracy, human rights and respect for law, the letters stated further.

The US Congressman said Pakistan should investigate human rights violations and hold the culprits accountable. Brad Sherman, in his letter, expressed concern over torture on Shahbaz Gill and arrest of Ali Amin Gandapur.

Sherman also mentioned in his letter Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement about elimination of Imran Khan from the political arena.
