ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Election Commission of Pakistan counsel and senior jurist Irfan Qadir rejected the possibility of elections in Punjab as per the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision on Wednesday.
Irfan Qadir, while speaking at a talk show, rejected the decision of the three-member bench of the SC and said elections would not be held in Punjab on May 14.
Mr Qadir said the ECP was not bound by court’s verdict. He further declared the SC’s decision against the constitution of the country, saying "it is neither in the constitution nor in the law that the Supreme Court should give the date of the election."
“This decision can be rejected not only by the cabinet but also by the common man,” he said.
