CM Parvez accords approval to Taunsa Sharif's status as district

Taunsa is the fifth new district in a short span of a few months.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi has accorded approval to grant district status to Taunsa Sharif on Thursday.
Members of national and provincial assembly of Dera Ghazi Khan called on CM Parvez Elahi. Khwaja Sheraz Mahmood, M. Khan Laghari, Saifuddin Khosa, Sardar M. Mohiuddin Khosa, Javed Akhtar, Makhdoom Raza, Ali Raza Dareshk, Rai Zahoor and Principal Secretary to CM M. Khan Bhatti were present in the meeting.
The chief minister said that on the demand of the members of national and provincial assemblies of Dera Ghazi Khan immediate steps had been taken to grant the status of district to Taunsa Sharif. “Thanks to Allah Almighty, now I have given final approval to make Taunsa Sharif a district and fulfilled the promises made to the people of Taunsa,” he added.
Mr Elahi further said: “Taunsa is the fifth addition to the list of newly-formed districts in a short span of a few months. Murree, Wazirabad, Talagang and Kot Addu have already been given the status of districts.”
“With the formation of the district, the administrative affairs of Taunsa will improve and education, health and other facilities also will be increased. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the convenience of legislators and the people.” Mr Elahi affirmed.
The members of the assembly expressed gratitude to CM Elahi for granting the district status to Tunsa Sharif.
