Sri Lanka women beat Pakistan to qualify for Asia Cup Final.

Sylhet (Dunya News) - Sri Lanka’s women cricket team beat Pakistan in the Semi-Finals of Women’s Asia Cup in Sylhet on Thursday.

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by one run in the Semi-Final match to qualify for the Final against India.

Sri Lanka women posted a total of 121 runs, batter Anushka Sanjeewani scored a 21-ball 26 while the highest scorer Harshitha Samarawickrama posted 35 off 41 balls.

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof tried her best to win the match, scoring a 41-ball 42 runs but she Sri Lanka’s Sugandika Kumari took her wicket and sent the skipper back to the pavilion. Nida Dar contributed 26 runs off 26 balls and opening batter Muneeba Ali scored 18 runs off 10 balls.

Experienced batter Aliya Riaz and finisher Ayesha Naseem could not seal the deal for Pakistan.

Sri Lanka bowler Inoka Ranaweera bagged Player of the match award for grabbing two wickets and conceding 17 runs.

Sri Lanka will now face India for Final on Saturday, October 15 in Sylhet.
