Federal govt provided no assistance to Punjab flood victims, complains Elahi

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the federal government did not help the flood victims of Punjab and has not given even a penny for their rehabilitation.

The Punjab CM held a meeting with overseas Pakistanis on Monday, in which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Texas President Rashid Bukhari handed over a check of Rs 30 lakh to the CM in the Flood Relief Fund.

Furthermore, overseas Pakistani Shahid Butt gave the check for the amount announced during the telethon to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund and Irshad B. Anjum, General Manager of Faletti’s Hotel also handed over the check of relief money to Chief Minister Flood Relief Fund.

On the occasion, Pervaiz Elahi admired the passion of overseas Pakistanis to help flood victims.

He also expressed disappointment over the federal government’s negligence towards the flood affectees of Punjab saying that it is a pity that the federal government did not provide any help to the flood victims in Punjab.

The behavior of the federal government is regrettable and condemnable in every way, he said.
