PM visiting Uzbekistan to attend SCO-CHS meeting
SAMARKAND (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday met on the sidelines of the meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and discussed issues of mutual interest.
The meeting focused on strengthening Pak-Uzbek ties in diverse fields for the benefit of the two brotherly nations.
It merits mention that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting Samarkand, Uzbekistan to attend the annual meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). After his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the ancient Khizar mosque of Uzbekistan’s historic city Samarkand.
The prime minister appreciated the architectural masterpiece of the mosque built in the eighth century. Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif and Miftah Ismail accompanied the prime minister.
PM Sharif also paid respects at the mausoleum of Uzbekistan’s first president, Islam Karimov.

The meeting focused on the ways and means to strengthen relationship between Pakistan and Tajikistan in diverse fields including trade, economy, energy and people-to-people contacts.
