Karachi police file 2 cases against PTI Numaish Chowrangi protesters

Two pedestrians were hurt after police opened air fire to disperse the PTI workers.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Karachi police has filed 2 cases against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters in the sit-in at the Numaish Chowrangi after the later showed resistance to the shelling and baton charge by the police.
The protesters gathered at the Numaish Chowrangi to show support to the PTI Azadi March on the call of PTI chairman Imran Khan in a bid to get rid of the "imported government".
PTI leaders Ali Zaidi, Khurram Sherzaman, Firdous Shameem, Bilal Ghaffar, Arslan Taj and 9 others were named in the case. The cases have been registered under the section of breaking things, lighting fire on streets and disturbance in the routine.
According to police, during the protest, a police van was set on fire while glasses of several cars were broken by the protesters. The violent protesters torched a prison van as well. Three police constables were hurt along with an incharge of Soldier Bazar.

On the other hand, an FIR had been registered against PTI leader Fawad Chaudry at Mangla Police Station. Three sections against the PTI leader include possession of weapons, stoning of police personnel and incitement against the government. FIR was registered against 3 named and more than 150 unknown people.
