Pakistan reports highest number of single-day COVID-19 cases

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan has reported 8,183 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest number of cases in a single day since the coronavirus pandemic started in 2020, Dunya News reported.

Pakistan has reported 30 more deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,402,070. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,192.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 8,183 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 

Province-wise Details

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

535,965 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 471,925 in Punjab, 189,300 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 123,648 in Islamabad, 36,465 in Azad Kashmir, 34,187 in Balochistan and 10,580 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

 

Tests and Recoveries

Pakistan has so far conducted 24,822,901 coronavirus tests and 68,624 in the last 24 hours. 1,274,657 patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,353 patients are in critical condition.

Positivity Ratio

The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 11.92 percent.

Vaccine Statistics

So far, 104,228,089 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 223,230 in last 24 hours. 80,748,105 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 322,467 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 174,085,175 with 605,450 in the last 24 hours.
