Punjab leads the way in provinces with 68% of eligible population having received atleast one dose
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Monday said that total vaccinations carried out now exceed 15 crores in the country.
Asad Umar, who also heads NCOC, said that Punjab leads the way in provinces with 68% of eligible population having received at least one dose.
KP follows with 57%, Sindh at 51% and Balochistan at just 38%. Balochistan.
Asad Umar further said that everyone has done a great job in December and sharply increased vaccination rate.
On the other hand, Pakistan has received 15 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
15 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine funded by the ADB have been by Islamabad. The doses are meant to help Pakistan in its fight against the pandemic.
Earlier today, Pakistan reported 2 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,293,715. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 28,909 on Monday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 301 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 13,064 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 7,662 in Sindh 5,922 in KP, 966 in Islamabad, 746 in Azad Kashmir, 363 in Balochistan, and 186 in GB.
