PTI's replacement with JUI-F is thought-provoking: Fawad Chaudhary
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Addressing a conference in Islamabad, Minister of information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary said that the return of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam - F (JUI-F) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to replace Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) is thought-provoking. He added that JUI-F is an extremist party which should be dissolved.
While confessing the mistake of not planning to achieve victory appropriatley, he said that the economic statistics of country are improving due to government s efforts. The farmers are earning an increased income. In the yield of cotton crop, a profit of 19.5 per cent is expected. Meanwhile during COVID-19, an increase of 31 per cent in income tax was observed.
He added that ECP must send the tender to introduce Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The government has also paid back debts of Rs55 billion of Zardari and Nawaz government. Due to expensive agreement of IPPs, country faced economic difficulty. Government has returned IPPs of Rs34 billion due to the wrong decisions of PPP and PML-N governments in past.
He said that the upcoming OIC conferences will also take place in Pakistan. Fawad Chaudhary said that the country also faced the rise in growth of textile. He added that expensive plants of electricity were installed in PML-N era while the country still pays off pending debts of PPP and PML-N government leaders.
The minister said that government aims to increase the production of cars to 5 million in the country. Pakistan currently is producing 2 million 40 thousand cars. He said that 85 per cent of bikes are being manufactured across country which has increased the employment opportunities.
He went on to add that in order to ensure the transparency of elections, the approval of bringing amendments in Election Act has been taken from cabinet. He said that the amendment was done following the directions of Supreme Court’s decision.
Fawad said that the government also constituted another committee to resolve the food and security crises of country.
