Syed Ali Gilani's funeral prayer to be offered today

It was the will of deceased Hurriyat leader that he should be buried in Mazar-e-Shuhada, Srinagar.
SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – The funeral prayer of late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani will be offered today (Thursday) at 12:00 noon at Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, it was the will of the deceased Hurriyat leader was that he should be buried in Mazar-e-Shuhada, Srinagar.
On the other hand, funeral prayers in absentia for veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani would be offered in all major cities of Pakistan and across Azad Kashmir.
Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani who had been under house arrest for the most of the last decade passed away at his residence in Srinagar on Wednesday after prolonged illness. He was 92.
Syed Ali Gilani, a veteran of Kashmiri politics, was the chairman of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC).
He was a staunch opponent of Indian illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and led Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination.
Shortly after Ayed Ali Gilani s death, Kashmir Police Chief Vijay Kumar told reporters in Srinagar that restrictions have been imposed in the region. "Only his family and relatives will be allowed to participate in his funeral prayers," he said.
Heavy contingents of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed in and around the residence of Syed Ali Gilani in uptown Hyderpora area.
