Samar Bilour said 3000 electronic voting machines will have to be manufactured daily for 2023 polls

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Awami National Party (ANP) on Wednesday while rejecting the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) said that the machines were new and modern way to rig elections.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday flanked by ANP information committee members Rehmat Ali Khan, Taimoor Baaz Khan and Hamid Toofan, ANP KP spokesperson Samar Haroon Bilour said that 3000 electronic voting machines will have to be manufactured on daily basis for 2023 general elections, while the experiment of RTS has failed in previous elections.

She said according to the federal minister for science and technology, the results will be released in 45 seconds after polling, adding that transparency is required in the data being stored. “The data should be linked to the ID card to maintain transparency,” she added.

Bilour further said that if the government is really serious then let them have this experience in cantonment elections, adding that to run this system 3 to 500,000 people will have to be trained while the technical staff will be separate and if the machine breaks down they need separate people.
