Resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions imperative for peace in region: COAS

Gen Bajwa said the situation poses a serious threat to the security of the region.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said that resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS expressed solidarity with Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal, Army Chief and said that only resolution of Kashmir dispute can bring peace and stability in the region.

Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the worst state repression and inhumane military siege continues, serious violations of human rights and international law are taking place in Occupied Kashmir while efforts are being made to change the geographical and population ratio.

He said the situation poses a serious threat to the security of the region.
