Court approves bail of PTI MPA Chohan after SAPM Shahzad Akbar pardoned him

The court ordered for release of the detained MPA after he submits surety bonds worth Rs100,000

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Sessions Court on Wednesday granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nazir Chohan after Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahzad Akbar pardoned him.

Additional Sessions Judge took up the bail plea of PTI MPA Nazir Chohan. During the proceedings, Haroon Ilyas, representative of Shahzad Akbar appeared before the court and presented the power of attorney in the court.

The court after a representative of Shahzad Akbar confirmed the contents of the affidavit approved the bail plea from Nazir Chohan.

The court also ordered for the release of the detained MPA after he submits surety bonds worth Rs100,000.

On Tuesday, in a written statement, the PTI MPA had apologized from SAPM Shahzad Akbar for sharing a post on social media against him.

Chohan stated that he seeks apology from Shahzad Akbar for raising questions about his he faith. “He is Sunni Muslim and believer of Finality of Last Prophet (PBUH). I also issued statement to this context and showed remorse over my statement and conduct,” he added.

“I will not give any statement to hurt feelings and reputation of Shahzad Akbar in future,” Nazir Chohan wrote.

Responding to Nazir Chohan’s apology, Shahzad Akbar issued an affidavit, stating, the accused has admitted his mistake, sought pardon and showed remorse over his false allegations from the complainant for which the complainant had forgiven him in light of Islamic injunctions of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and for sake of Almighty Allah.

The complainant has no objection for concession of post arrest of accused, the affidavit further read.
