Peshawar Zalmi win toss, choose to field against Karachi Kings

ABU DHABI (Dunya News) – Karachi Kings are 58-4 at the end of 10 overs against Lahore Qalandars in the 24th match of sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Peshawar Zalmi had won the toss and elected to field against Karachi Kings.

While Peshawar Zalmi are in the third position of the table, with 4 wins and 4 losses under their belt, Karachi Kings are just below them with 3 wins and 4 losses from their 7 games which they have played so far.

Sherfane Rutherford fired on all cylinders in the previous game and scored a quickfire 56. Wahab Riaz looked a little off-colour and his performance will have to go up if Peshawar are to stand a chance of winning.

Karachi Kings are coming on the back of an 8-wicket defeat at the hands of table-toppers Islamabad United. In spite of Babar Azam and Najibullah Zadran’s brilliance with the bat, Karachi had to go down as the losing team. Waqas Maqsood picked up 1 wicket and conceded runs at just an economy rate of 6.8.

The last time when Karachi and Peshawar had locked horns against each other was in the first leg of PSL 2021 at the National Stadium in Karachi. In what was a high-scoring encounter, Kings had successfully chased down a 189-run target with three balls to spare.

Individual half-centuries from opening batsman Babar Azam (77 not out) and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi (67 not out) played a vital role in Karachi’s victory as the pair had put together a match-winning 118-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
