Rupee falls by 47 paisa against USD

The greenback closed at Rs155.78

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 47 paisa in the interbank on Tuesday against Pakistani rupee. The greenback closed at Rs155.78 on second business day of the week compared to previous closing of 155.31.

Since start of June, dollar has risen by 1.38 paisa. However, the greenback has lost 12.65 rupees or 7.8 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.

Meanwhile, the price of euro appreciated by 87 paisa and closed at Rs189.70 against the last working day’s trading of Rs188.83, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.42, whereas an increase of 98 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs220.36 as compared to its last closing of Rs219.38.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by about 13 paisa each to close at Rs42.41 and Rs41.54 respectively.
